THE FIBRE OF THE GODS<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vicu\u00f1a is considered one of the finest and rarest fibres in the world. For the Inca people it was the “fibre of the gods”, reserved for the emperor only.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The vicu\u00f1a fibre is obtained from the fleece of a small South American camelid, closely related to camels, alpacas and llamas, that lives wild in the Andes. The fleece of this animal is made up of exceptionally soft, shiny and fine fibres, with a diameter of only 12 \u00b5m.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

RARE AND PRECIOUS<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The shearing of the Vicu\u00f1as takes place every two years and each animal yields just over 100 grams of fibre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The difficulty of obtaining it due to the low number of existing specimens added to the minimum amount of wool produced are the main reasons that explain the exclusivity of this outstanding raw material.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
