Organic cotton

Organic cotton is grown with organic production systems and with products that have a low impact on the environment. To be defined as “organic”, a cotton must come from organic plantations that meet the following requirements:

1. The cultivated land has produced exclusively organic products for the previous three years;
2. The seed is GMO-free;
3. Chemical fertilizers, insecticides and pesticides are not used;
4. The defoliation is natural.

MELANGE SUPIMA

Supima®

Supima® is an Extra-Long Staple cotton known for its white, long and fine fibres. It is grown mainly in California, Arizona, Texas and New Mexico. Its distinguishing characteristics are the absence of fibre pollution, due to mechanical harvesting, and a remarkable resistance to pilling.

ICA selects only the best American Supima® cotton with characteristics of length (36 mm), resistance and fineness (3.8 Micronaire) above the standard.
